Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 has been making a lot of waves before its release. And now its runtime has been revealed to be shorter than its prequel Robot.
If there is one film that can
challenge the records created by SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The
Conclusion then that is Shankar's 2.0 starring
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. Touted to be India's most expensive movie, 2.0 has
been passed with U/A certificate by CBFC. Even before the release, the
much-awaited sequel is on a record-breaking spree by earning Rs 120 crore
through its advance booking and becoming the first film in Tamil cinema to go
past Rs 100 crore.
A recent report also suggested
that the movie has also surpassed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in
terms of the numbers of screens it will be releasing worldwide. While Baahubali
2: The Conclusion had released on approximately Rs 6500 screens, 2.0 will
be seeing a wide 6600-6800 screen count.
And now a week ahead of the
release, the runtime of the movie has been revealed. According to a report in
India Today, the runtime of 2.0 is said to be 148 minutes
which is 2 hours and 28 minutes. Which makes it shorter than its prequel Robot. The
first part was 167 minutes (2 hours and 47 minutes) long. Not just that it also
makes 2.0 director Shankar's shortest film to date. His
longest film so far is Vikram starrer I at 188 minutes (3
hours and 8 minutes).
It is interesting to see
Shankar's costliest film is his shortest which also means that we can
expect 2.0 to be taut.
