A 30-year-old man was allegedly shot dead over a dog fight in Delhi on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Ashfaq.
It all happened when Ashfaq was roaming in an area of north east Delhi and a dog began barking at him. Ashfaq threw stones at the dog when it tried to bite him, DCP north east Atul Thakur said.
However, a man identified as Mehtab, who is the dog's owner, noticed Ashfaq throwing stones at his pet. The owner came out with a gun and shot at Ashfaq.
Ashfaq was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he succummed to his injuries.
The accused is absconding and investigation is on, the police official said.
