Bharatiya Janata Party leader Eknath Khadse on Tuesday filed his nomination from Muktinagar assembly constituency for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.
His name, however, was not there in the first list of candidates for the state released by the BJP earlier in the day.
The BJP on Tuesday released the first list of 125 candidates who will contest in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on October 21.
In its first list for Maharashtra, the BJP dropped the names of 12 sitting MLAs while 91 sitting MLAs have been given a ticket. The first list of BJP candidates also contains the names of five leaders who switched from Congress, four who quit Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and two independents.
Among prominent leaders, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is set to contest from Nagpur South West while Chandrakant Patil will contest from Kothrud.
