Armored truck makes money rain in Atlanta
We all have only heard the saying, 'it's raining money' but people in Atlanta were actually fortunate enough to experience it.
On Tuesday night an armored truck carrying cash on Interstate 285 in Atlanta literally made money rain. The truck's door sprung open and an approximate amount of Rs 1,19,63,962 (USD 175000) came flying out, according to the Dunwoody Police Department.
While the money was flying over the road, drivers pulled over to collect the cash and those who did not stop, took out their phones to make a video of the havoc created on the road.
In a statement released by Dunwoody Police Department, they said, they received a 911 call regarding the incident. "The armored car crew said the side door came open while they were driving and money spilled out onto 285. Officers and the truck crew gathered a few hundred dollars that were still there when officers arrived, but plenty was taken."
Twitter is full of memes and jokes regarding the incident that took place. Have a look.
The police department has asked back for the money from the people who have collected it.
And two of the collectors have returned the money, one man returned Rs 1,43,623 (USD 2100) and the other returned Rs 34,196 (USD 500).
