Kane Williamson was disappointed too but was still graceful as he walked away without making any stinging remarks about the result and rules.
Ravi Shastri took to Twitter to praise Kane Williamson and pay his respect to Kiwi skipper's remarkable behaviour after the World Cup defeat.
"Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless. #CWC19."
Kane Williamson showed his class both on and off the field throughout the tournament and certainly has become the most revered cricketer after his graceful behaviour.
The ICC recognized not just Williamson's scores of 578 runs at 82.57 but also the manner in which he has conducted himself and led his team throughout the tournament. And Williamson being Williamson was stunned when he was told that he was selected the player of the tournament.
Ravi Shastri has been given a 45-day extension following the World Cup to stay in charge for the West Indies tour from August 3 to September 3.
