Strict restrictions have been imposed in the Kashmir Valley on Friday ahead of prayers, as a precautionary measure.
The Valley witnessed relaxations in restrictions in the past few days with increasing traffic on the streets and shops opening in the evening.
However, Friday morning faced certain diversions.
Amid rumours of 'UN Chalo' protest and violence expected in Srinagar, security forces have been deployed in sensitive areas.
The SSB, CRPF and JKP personnel have been put on guard in and around the United Nations Office to ensure no widespread violence.
The larger mosques on main roads are likely to remain shut in the city while the local mosques withinin the colonies will remain open.
Sources in the administration maintain that restrictions are important to avoid large congregations, where miscreants may spark trouble and incite violence.
However, local residents say that they are facing inconvenience due to the communication restrictions and partial restoration of landline phones.
The downtown area of Srinagar city remains volatile with stone pelting incidents being reported in certain areas.
